This is the story of kitkat, who survived this cold, harsh world, from being sickly, weak, starved and full of maggots to a completely well healed, healthy and active pup full of life. Along the way, he as lucky too. Lucky to have met an Animal Care Trust volunteer Savi, who saw him and his siblings cruelly abandoned by the roadside on a highway near Haleyangadi. Anyone else would have just carried on perhaps, but lucky for Kitkat, Savi didnt give up on him, even after he tried to hide from her for two days. After finally catching him, the real work only began.
The puppy was in a desperate state and needed lots and lots of care. First some food and water. A warm bath and thorough cleaning. Application of medicine on his bruised body. Days of giving deworming pills to clean his stomach of worms. Tonics and medicine to take care of the weakness and loss of strength. And then those maggots. Hundreds of them, eggs and live ones to be destroyed. After all the tender loving care for 2 months, the pup finally is completely healed and loving life. Please watch the video.
