When a whole country is locked down and socially distancing in order to break the chain of the deadly corona virus, we at Animal Care Trust looked at how it might affect our street animal friends. Many of the animals and birds get their daily food from restaurants, food shops and even from garbage bins for their sustenance. With all shops, restaurants shutting down, these creatures of the street were left starving.
But not for long. Animal Care Trust, with the help of our several friends from bakeries to pet shops, are able to gather bread, rice and other foods for animals. With the help of a wide network of our volunteers and non volunteers, more than 75 people and counting, we have been able to provide hundreds of dogs, cats, cows, peacocks, crows and others at least one daily meal.
This sustained, coordinated effort from people of all areas in and around Mangalore has helped make a small difference in the lives of many. We are very thankful to everyone pitching in to help our friends in need.
